THE FIRST STEP

THE FIRST STEP

First Step, the debut album from the Faces, was released in early 1970, only a few months after the Faces had formed.  It was recorded in London at De Lane Lea Studios and was produced by the band themselves.

The album contains ten songs written by different band members, plus a cover of Dylan’s “Wicked Messenger”.

Highlights include their first single, “Flying”, co-written by Stewart, Wood, and Lane and it’s B-side, “Three Button Hand Me Down”, written by Stewart and McLagan.
