5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY OF NATALIA'S NAKED HEART FOUNDATION
Natalia Vodianova, supported by Guerlain, BMW Russia and Harper’s Bazaar, celebrated the 5 Year Anniversary of her charitable foundation - the Naked Heart on
the 24th March 2011 at the converted Krasny Oktyabr chocolate factory in Moscow.
The evening was built around an auction lead by the long-term partner of the foundation: Christie’s. The lots included pieces by modern Russian and international artists, as well as several unique money can’t buy lots.
Works for the auction have been generously donated by the artists: Joana Vasconcelos, Sir Peter Blake, The Chapman Brothers, Keith Tyson, Semyon Faibisovich, Viktor Pivovarov, Vitaly Komar, Gosha Ostretsov, Vinogradov and Dubossarsky, David Datuna, AES+F.
The highlight of the evening was an incredible one-off performance by the band "Naked Hearts", composed of Ronnie Wood (The Rolling Stones), Johnny Marr (The Smiths), their sons Jesse Wood and Nile Marr, as well as Andy Newmark (Sly and the Family Stone) and Andy Wallace.
This event raised a grand total of over $1.4 million for the Naked Heart Foundation’s activities: building Play Parks for children in underprivileged urban areas of Russia,
and development of our new program– “Every Chid Deserves To Have A Family".
The idea of the programme is to support the development of a network of centres providing psychological, therapeutic, legal and social support for children with special needs and their families, as well as for families intending to foster or adopt.
Natalia Vodianova - "Our five year anniversary is a wonderful opportunity to gather all of our friends to look back on what Naked Heart Foundation has achieved so far,to celebrate together our love for the children and to thank our supporters for giving us the tools to carry on our valuable work."
