Bremont unveils Ronnie Wood B1 Marine Chronometer

It has been worth the wait, Bremont is extremely pleased to announce a new bespoke ‘Bremont Ronnie Clock’ which showcases a unique hand painted dial by esteemed rock legend and critically acclaimed artist Ronnie Wood. It has been four years since Bremont released its first bespoke marine clock with Ronnie Wood and this new model depicts a different period in Ronnie’s life. Whilst the first clock Ronnie completed was inspired by his abiding passion for horses the 2017 edition is titled “I feel like painting” and the oil painting on the dial very much represents his love of art.

Using the foundations of the Bremont B1 Marine Clock, which is one of the most sophisticated Marine Chronometers ever made, this Best of British collaboration presents art and clock making in a way that is rarely seen.

Ronnie Wood; “I have thoroughly enjoyed indulging myself with Giles and Nick on another wonderful project. We were always planning a series of clocks but I went away to do four gigs and ended up touring for four years. It’s reinvigorating being able to spend some time focusing on my painting again and needless to say a perfect thing to do in my 70th Year!”

Giles English, Bremont Co-Founder; “Working with Ronnie again is a total honour and we have wanted to do a second clock for many years. Once again this is at unique collaboration where we have brought artesian clock-making and fine-art together to make a truly beautiful object. To combine clock making and art in such a way is really a collectors’ paradise.”

For many years now Ronnie has established himself as a critically acclaimed artist and his work is much sought after by collectors.

Throughout the years, the artist and the musician have been inseparable. As his musical career progressed, Ronnie continued his passion for painting and drawing; his subjects ranging from band members and musicians he admired, knew and sometimes played with, to family and close friends – and of course, the self-portrait. It is as natural to find him with a pencil as with a guitar, drawing portraits of contemporaries and finding inspiration from his musical influences.

Inspired by John Harrison’s original ships chronometer Bremont first built the B1 Marine Clock as a tribute to this great man. The clock is entirely made in England, down to the last screw, and has been designed in-house with some unique features not normally found in clocks which include; three time zones, 30-day power reserve, date, 90-day chronograph and the case will be fully waterproof.

With such a complicated design and build Bremont is only able to make a handful of clocks per year. These very rare editions with hand painted dials by Ronnie make them even more special.
